A community website, or wiki is a place where people with similar interests can come together and contribute to a common website. Web design skills are not required thanks to simple push button input of links, pictures, articles etc.
Wetpaint is a site that enables you to set up your own wiki, about anything you want, at no cost.
Here's a video from CommonCraft that explains how it works.

Hey Shawn,
ReplyDeleteTalk about coincidence. I just ran across this link: http://twitterforteachers.wetpaint.com/ and was wondering what wetpaint.com was all about. Thanks for the explanation. Great blog!
Hey Mary-Frances, thanks for visiting and for your comment. This WetPaint looks promising. Since the hosting is free I would imagine people could use it to share anything they are interested in. A classroom could even create a community site about whatever they are currently learning about. Then the students could contribute individually, as well as input from others across the world. Pretty neat.
